“REVISITING PROGRESS & REVISING STRATEGY”

Objectives: (1) To revisit the recommendations of the last California Watershed Forum (#4, held on May 17, 2000) for “a robust, collaborative framework for watershed management” in the state by reviewing progress one year later and revising the strategy as needed; and (2) To discuss ways to best share information by the California delegates to the National Watershed Forum in June.

 

9:00 a.m.          Introductory Comments: Dennis Pendleton, U.C. Davis

                        Sari Sommarstrom, Watershed Management Council

                        Maria Rea, Resources Agency

 

9:15 a.m.          Review of Progress on “12 Steps to California’s Watershed Recovery”

As a panel, the co-leaders of each step will present: (1) a summary of their findings on progress to date (ideally in written form also); (2) anticipated progress during the coming year; and (3) any recommendations for changing the step’s wording or its leaders (or deleting the step) for this next year.

 

10:30 a.m.        BREAK

 

10:50 a.m.        Continue with “12 Step” presentations and discussions

 

12:00 p.m.        LUNCH  [Deli-type lunch not to exceed $10.00] – Patio

 

1:00 p.m.          Discussion & Wrap-Up of “Revisiting Progress & Revising Strategy”

What still needs to be captured? What are reasonable expectations for accomplishments towards a statewide, collaborative watershed framework during the next 12 months?
