Luna Leopold and Lee Silvey had a long-standing habit of pasting graphs, charts and tables into their field notebooks to help with river-related field work. They called these their "River Boy Poop Sheets." Once a book was filled, they'd move the poop sheets to a new one. No more. Luna, Lee and Dave Rosgen have designed a hard-bound 4"x7" field notebook, with waterproof surface sizing and stitching, with all the poop sheets included in the back. I've got one in my hands now and it's a river-nerd's dream. There are 135 pages of standard fieldbook ruled paper and 55 pages of templates, tables, charts, and data; all the most useful stuff, evolved from decades of river investigation experience. They are light blue and very high quality, built for the rigors of field work. Very nice tool.
Luna has been asking us for years to be sure to conserve our work for future use, especially our field notes. "The River Field Book" is a great step in this direction. I'm ordering a box of 'em today.
They are $19 each for 1-5, $18 for 6-10, and $17 for 11-19. The price includes shipping.
