Society for Ecological Restoration Announces New Journal
We at SER are proud to announce the upcoming publication of the first issue
of a new journal, Restoration Ecology. This international,
peer-reviewed quarterly journal will provide much-needed technical information
about restoration, including:
- Applied and basic research in restoration
- Descriptions of pioneering techniques
- Review articles summarizing literature on restoration
- Analytic essays
- Letters to the editor
SER's Board of directors formally brought the journal into existence at
the 1991 meeting in Orlando in order to bring state-of-the-art information
to its members and to the field. They chose Blackwell Scientific as the
publisher, the esteemed William Miering of Connecticut College as the editor,
and Edith B. Allen as co-editor. The editor of the journal is currently
accepting papers for the ground-breaking first issue of this journal. Possible
subjects include studies of interactions between organisms and their environment,
as well as physical aspects important to restoration such as soils, water,
air, and hydrologic functions. Please send submissions to:
